Politicians and the people who elect them.

I make no claim for this photo just one of those things you find on the internet.

I believe there's a lot of truth to what the photo implies. All that power corrupts and absolute power stuff is true. They certainly didn't bother to listen to most of us here in the bottom section on the bailout.

One thing I've noticed over the last 8 years though is how people hate W. They don't just disagree with his policies they actually hate the man. I completely fail to understand this hatred.

I disagreed with almost every policy Clinton ever supported. Even he agreed with that once admitting that he raised taxes too much. I noticed he didn't offer to give any back though. As much as I didn't like his policies though I'm certain I'd enjoy having him here for a drink and a cigar but I'd supply the sticks.

I watched the debate tonight of course. I give this one to McCain. I'm sure the main stream (read alphabet networks) media will continue their love affair with their fellow liberal but John kicked ass tonight.

As liberal as McCain is I will still vote for him. He's my only choice unless I feel like tossing the vote to someone who has no chance. I refuse to vote for someone with no experience at running anything. Even Sarah ran Wasilla and Alaska but Obama has never run anything. There's a good chance though Obama will win. If that's the case hold tightly to your wallet and try to enjoy our spiral dive into oblivion.

Clinton is not responsible for terrorists wanting to blow up our buildings and people.
We didn't have any of that when he was in office.
George W. is solely responsible for pissing these people off enough to want to do this to us.
No one else, just Bush.
And there in comes the hate.

Being a Bush fellow, you will make all types of arguments saying it was not Bush.
Won't sell.

Better freshen up that memory just a bit David.

The First WTC Attack
Clinton had been in office just 38 days when terrorists bombed the World Trade Center, killing six people and injuring more than 1,000. Although it was later learned that the bombing was the work of terrorists who hoped to topple one of the towers into the other and kill as many as 250,000 people, at first it was not clear that the explosion was the result of terrorism. The new president’s reaction seemed almost disengaged. He warned Americans against “overreacting” and, in an interview on MTV, described the bombing as the work of someone who “did something really stupid.”

Khobar Towers
“In June of 1996, it felt like an entire herd was converging on the White House,” wrote Clinton aide George Stephanopoulos in his memoir, All Too Human. A herd of scandals, that is: In late May, independent counsel Kenneth Starr had convicted Jim and Susan McDougal and Jim Guy Tucker in the first big Whitewater trial; in June, the Filegate story first broke into public view, and Sen. Alphonse D’Amato issued his committee’s Whitewater report recommending that several administration officials be investigated for perjury. It was also in June that the White House went into full battle mode against a variety of allegations contained in Unlimited Access, a book by former FBI agent Gary Aldrich.

All these developments were heavy on the minds of Clinton, Dick Morris, and the other members of the re-election strategy team when the bomb went off at Khobar Towers on June 25. As it had after the World Trade Center bombing, a distracted White House gave the case to law enforcement. But there is significant evidence to suggest that the White House was even less interested in finding answers than it had been in the World Trade Center case. In the Khobar investigation, the Clinton administration not only failed to follow potentially productive leads but in some instances actively made the investigators’ job more difficult.

The Embassies
On August 7, 1998, bombs exploded at U.S. embassies in Nairobi, Kenya, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. More than 200 people were killed, including 12 Americans. The morning of the attacks, Clinton said, “We will use all the means at our disposal to bring those responsible to justice, no matter what or how long it takes. . . . We are determined to get answers and justice.”

Investigators quickly discovered that bin Laden was behind the attacks. On August 20, Clinton ordered cruise-missile strikes on a bin Laden camp in Afghanistan and the al-Shifa pharmaceutical plant in Sudan. But the strikes were at best ineffectual. There was little convincing evidence that the pharmaceutical factory, which admin istration officials believed was involved in the production of material for chemical weapons, actually was part of a weapons-making operation, and the cruise missiles in Afghanistan missed bin Laden and his deputies.

The Cole
The last act of terrorism during the Clinton administration came on October 12, 2000, when bin Laden operatives bombed the USS Cole in Aden, Yemen. Seventeen American sailors were killed, 39 others were wounded, and one of the U.S.’s most sophisticated warships was nearly sunk.

Read the U.S. Supreme Court ruling on the first WTC bombing. They held the New York and New Jersey Port Authorities responsible and liable.

bin Laden was in custody after the first attack but George Bush arranged his deportation via JFK airport.
I can give you first hand details about that one.

You're right about the Supreme Court David but incomplete. That was blame for the poor security practices they were talking about not the bombing itself.

But them did hold them responsible and liable under New York state law for the bombing.

David seems to read and only consume what he wants to absorb. It is typical of some to want to blame other people for the actions of others. How can anyone blame the Port Authority for the first WTC bombing?

Other than they like most other American were blind to the fact people want to kill us. They do not want to talk, they want us dead. The failure was us not really understanding how much these people want to kill us. We sit happy here thinking everyone likes us, they don't and have not for many years.

9/11 took a couple years to put together, they wanted to hurt Clinton and as many other Americans as they could. Clinton had called for regime change back in the the late 90s. He just never had the balls to go forth and do anything about it. To really see the what has been happening you have to look at the bigger picture.

Jimmy Carter should have used military force in the 80s when Iran took over sovereign territory when extremists took over our embassy in Iran. He was gutless and impotent to do anything other than talk, if you recall he had gutted our Military. If he would have given them 30 days or less to release our people and restore our Embassy we would not be dealing with many of our current day problems.

Jimmy Carter was and is the worst President this country has ever had, and shows it till this day with his ignorant statements, a no class peanut farmer from Georgia that was elected cause people wanted change.

Does this all sound familiar?

I realize that I am delayed in posting here... however, I would like to say this much.... regardless of who was in office from what party, the American people would never have allowed ANY president to just randomly attack any country or terrorist group that had not directly attacked us first and killed numerous amounts of people. Can you imagine Clinton calling for an enormous war in Iraq in 1993 when the first WTC bomb attack happened? Or can you imagine a full scale war with threatening wars on two to three other countries when our embassy was bombed or when the USS Cole was hit? The American people on the whole are uninformed, lazy, and in general apathetic when it comes to just about anything that doesn't happen in their own backyards.
So there was no way for any leader to have any sort of offensive until 9/11 happened... which is a sad statement about our country. We are just waiting to be taken over by someone... anyone.
As for hating "W"... I can't stand the man as a leader. He's probably a very nice guy in person... in fact, I'd say hanging out with him would be a lot of fun... I like biking and hunting etc... it'd be cool. But he is a lousy leader and statesmen. I haven't heard many people claim to "hate" him however... but a lot blame him for our current position in life and in the world.
Obama however, due to his race, his past religion, and his name DOES have crazy people who hate him. At campaign events for McCain, the people at the rallies are calling for Obama to be murdered, calling him a treasonist, calling him a terrorist.... and all that is supported by a failing McCain campaign (McCain would respond to those shouts from the crowd with: "I understand your position and I agree). So talk about stoking the fires of hatred.
I am voting for Obama... but I nearly hope he doesn't win because most certainly someone will assassinate him. Take it from someone who is living a lifestyle that face a tremendous amount of prejudice every day. No one really hates a middle aged white man like "W".... but a black man named Obama who has a past as a Muslim and all hell will break loose. I worry for his children, his wife, and for him.
